This year, the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics (English) at our university strengthened its international ties by establishing important collaborations with universities in Greece and Ireland within the scope of the Erasmus+ program. These efforts, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gizem Ağır, the department’s Erasmus Coordinator, provided students with valuable opportunities for both academic enrichment and cultural exchange across Europe.
Throughout the year, the experiences of students who participated in Erasmus mobility—both outgoing and incoming—along with the documents and academic achievements related to the process, were compiled. These resources now serve as a guide for current and prospective students interested in the Erasmus program.
Thanks to the partnerships established with universities in Greece and Ireland, students gained significant benefits not only academically but also culturally. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gizem Ağır emphasized that Erasmus experiences greatly contribute to the professional development and broadened vision of students in the field of nutrition and dietetics.
Rabia Yalçın, a 3rd-year student from the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics (English), stated: "Thanks to the strong academic foundation I gained at our university, I performed well in my Erasmus courses—even those at the 3rd-year level—despite being a 2nd-year student at the time. I felt that the education I received at Acıbadem was more intense and informative. I also had the opportunity to improve my language skills by building on my existing knowledge with the help of international instructors."
Zeynep Türkyılmaz, a 4th-year student, shared: "During my Erasmus program, I had the chance to apply the knowledge I gained at Acıbadem. Since I participated as a 3rd-year student, the solid academic background I had made studying abroad much easier. I truly felt the difference of being an Acıbadem student. Starting from our first year, we are trained in research and presentation skills, which made me more confident and effective than many of my classmates abroad."
Niran Bucan, another 3rd-year student, said: "The knowledge I gained from our Clinical Nutrition course helped me throughout the semester and during exams. I felt the advantage of being an Acıbadem student during my Erasmus experience. I realized that I was more prepared and disciplined than many other students, especially in terms of academic work, which gave me a great sense of confidence."
